The idea for the floorworks came to me as an experiment. I had all the recycled off-cut pieces of material from my canvas workshop sewn together. I then taped the canvas to the floor of my studio which consequently caught the paint droppings, the wine spills, the cigarette ashes, whatever stuck to the bottom of my shoes etc. I left the canvas tacked down in my studio sometimes for up to a year before framing it and the rest is history. After I feel the work is done I cut the canvas into the right shape, clean up some of the smudges and overkills and add my own mark to finalize the piece. My floor art now becomes a tangible history and story of what work I was painting during that period.
